1971 Chevrolet Camaro! Same owner for over 35 years. All numbers
matching. Cruise it while you work on it.
This Camaro belongs to a friend of mine
who has owned it for nearly four decades. At the age of 17, this
was her first car, her first true love. This Camaro set the tone
for her high school years. A tone that still carries on to this
day. One year ago, she traveled back to her home town in Iowa to
pull the Camaro out of captivity. Her goal, to get it back on
the road so that her son could carry the torch through out his
high school years. They had the fluids flushed, brake & fuel
system gone through, a tune up, and a clean up of the engine
bay. Today she is on the road.
The Camaro does retain all of its
original sheet metal. It is far more solid than how you
typically find them. The floors, trunk, rockers, doors, roof,
cowl, firewall, it is all solid. Sheet metal wise it will only
need quarters and a rear valance. On the under side, it does
have rust within the frame rails located below the rear seat.
They are still together but they will need replaced. All of the
stainless and chrome is in great shape. The interior is all
there and it will need to be gone through. Mechanically it runs
and drives well. The original 307 engine fires up with ease and
the transmission shifts smoothly. It steers and brakes with
ease. Outside of the Cragers, this Camaro has only received one
aftermarket upgrade. That keypad next to the steering wheel, can
you guess what that is? :) Cue Dixie (or any other number of
